Oversees, develops and analyzes policies and practices related to project management and the project management office. Develops, analyzes and oversees project quality assurance and resource allocation. Enhances program and project management capabilities and operational oversight. Develops, edits and executes project plans to manage the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects. Defines, develops and deploys standardized project management tools and templates to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Job Function: Business Analysis

Works as a strategic partner with business leaders, external vendors, clients and others to help facilitate technology and process based business solutions. Through analysis and collaboration with business partners, creates process flows and business requirements documentation for new systems as well as modifications to existing systems. Records traceability between business and technology requirements. Develops test scripts suitable for successful testing.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Associate, Business Analysis, is primarily responsible for working with the Lines of Business (LOB) Subject Matter Experts to translate LOB problems into requirements, process changes, test cases, data mapping, etc. The incumbent manages/assists with updating/creating business requirements, process documentation, data mapping extracts and test plans and manages/assists with user acceptance testing. S/he works with the project managers to complete and update project documentation and deliverables and provides expert input and best practice guidance on areas of subject matter expertise.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the primary data analytics point of contact for the strategy team. Demonstrates strong analytical abilities alongside ability to assess end-user need & requirements  
  • Collaborates with technical support team as BI/business lead on projects, analyzing user needs, preparing enhancement requests, supporting technical development/implementation and performing user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with business management to ensure that business and functional informational needs are met.
  • Profiles data within their assigned data domains to identify/prioritize areas with greatest data quality concerns.
  • Leads key data element identification with data stakeholders across assigned data domain(s) using a risk based, standard business process approach.
  • Analyzes and documents functional processes and controls ensuring gaps and deficiencies are inventoried.
  • Supports with the development of data and process improvement plans.
  • Defines data quality requirements including business rules/controls, metrics and targets.
  • Develops and deploys operational dashboards and reports to create significant business impact.
  • Consults and advises best practices for systems implementation.
  • Translates business requirements into IT application impacts and business process impacts.
  • Develops and updates functional requirements and conducts business process modeling to explain functional requirements to business, development and QA teams.
  • Assists IT and business teams to ensure requirements are translated to test plans
  • Analyzes impact of proposed solution across the business, develop use cases to explain/demonstrate business requirements/specifications to IT team, and contributes a technical perspective during design reviews.
  • Performs Data mining and Analysis to address key business issues.
  • Troubleshoots and reports system performance and functionality problems.
  • Works with the project managers to complete and update project documentation and deliverables and attends project meeting
  • Uses predictive statistical techniques to analyze trends and identify risks/opportunities relative to portfolio servicing
  • Performs and analyzes scenario testing to identify optimal account penetration rates, while managing reputational risk
  • Measures effectiveness of various contact channels within portfolio servicing
  • Presents strategies and recommendations to management in a clear, concise and actionable format
  • Other Functions:
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) while providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to other project managers.

Requirements:

  • Education –
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree preferred in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research or related quantitative discipline Industry Experiencing Industry Experience
  • Experience –
    • Seven (7) years of work experience in a similar analytical role
    • Knowledge and experience in modeling techniques
    • Knowledge and experience in the fields of business intelligence and data analytics
    • Experience using predictive analytics in related industry
    • Prior experience in auto finance preferred but not required
    • Statistical Expertise Familiarity with logistic regression models, hypothesis testing, non-parametric testing, design of experiments and linear regression. Programming Skills
    • Proficient with SQL and SAS
    • Data extraction from different data sources. Ability to merge, concatenate, import/export datasets and check for data consistency and accuracy Presentation Skills
    • Use Excel to perform data analysis tasks and visually display quantitative information
    • Use Power Point and Word for explaining and displaying results related to various analyses
    • Ability to Maintain Confidentiality

    • Proficient in MS Office applications, experience with MS Project or equivalent an advantage
    • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to data transformation, functions/expressions, Macros
    • Strong logical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
    • Intermediate knowledge of SQL coding language
    • Familiarity with business cycles, both fiscal and calendar
    • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
    • Self-directed and able to flourish in a fast-paced environment
