Job Family: Marketing

Develops and executes marketing strategies and plans. Identifies and develops key insights into clients, the marketplace, competitors, macro tends and market opportunities. Analyzes marketplace trends and customer data to identify opportunities for growth, determines product requirements and defines targeted customer segments and associated messaging. Creates and/or coordinates the production and distribution of advertising and promotional materials. Establishes, implements and ensures consistent branding standards throughout product lines, promotional materials and events.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Direct Mail Marketing Associate is responsible for the direct marketing programs which support the company’s customer acquisition and retention efforts. The candidate must be data-driven and will help define list criteria, develop segmentation and targeting specifications, and conduct performance analysis.

Manages and consults with outside agencies for creative development and messaging, manages budgets and timelines, and coordinates with print vendors and mail houses to meet deadlines while adhering to quality standards.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage direct mail programs from inception to completion, including development of campaign objectives, selection criteria, creative development and production, and measure results.
  • Generate targeting and segmentation, list criteria and modeling specifics
  • Support and provide guidance to sales teams to assist their efforts.
  • Monitor, interpret and report direct marketing campaign performance to marketing colleagues and senior management
  • Manage external vendors, including creative and letter shop agencies and list providers
  • Manage production of other direct marketing projects as required
  • Ensure direct marketing projects are completed on-time, on-budget, and adhere to campaign goals
  • Engages and communicates with key business partners to align priorities and influence business areas.

Requirements:

  • Education –
    • Bachelor’s Degree: Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration or equivalent field.
    • or equivalent work experience
  • Experience –
    • 5-9 years Marketing or Communications.
    • 0-3 years Financial Services industry experience.
  • Skills & Abilities –
    • Ability to motivate or influence inside or outside senior level personnel, requiring a significant level of influence and trust.
    • Extremely strong written abilities
    • Ability to work independently with a high level of critical thinking skills.
    • Comfortable with new digital technology, social media, and reporting.
    • Candidate must be able to think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up sleeves to help implement the programs and measure results.
    • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment; ability to listen, evaluate different view points and influence others.
    • Extremely strong analytical skills including expert level Excel skills.
    • Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex problems.
    • Ability to interpret and analyze an array of data in a variety of forms and leverage it for marketing purposes.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently: Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
