Job Family: Information Technology

Designs, analyzes and supports the company’s information technology structure, systems and processes. Acquires, designs, implements and operates the company’s information technology resources (e.g., computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data, databases, etc.). Deploys, acquires, maintains and ensures security of information technology assets. Plans and tests processes to ensure compliance with system requirements, business objectives, security standards and other technical requirements.

Job Function: Infrastructure Operations

Designs, plans, and governs strategic and cross-organizational optimization of an enterprise’s systems, processes, or components. Controls and monitors day-to-day IT operations, change management, deployment, and DC and systems management. Ensures that the business and IT are in alignment. Drives the architecture approaches and processes to ensure that it is the most efficient and secure IT environment for the company.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Director, Infrastructure Operations is responsible for the overall management and support of the Company’s Infrastructure Operations including, virtualization platforms,cloud based servers, information architecture, enterprise storage solutions, end-point device management and desktop strategies, local and wide area network, operating systems, system administration, voice services, security, and data center infrastructure and services. Performs in a management role
as the enterprise architect for all matters relating to IT infrastructure and virtualization design and strategic planning.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees outsource partners to sustain and improve business trust by advancing the use of performance indicators to measure service levels, and improve reliability, availability, and performance.
  • Manages Network budget, network asset refresh, contracts, and investments to materially enhance Santander’s overall performance.
  • Ensures high levels of performance and availability of network systems.
  • Ensures availability and performance metrics are met or exceeded.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring and coaching to team members.
  • Establishes, implements, and ensures compliance with all security standards and policies.
  • Implements continuous improvement by utilizing a balanced scorecard and comparing performance metrics to external benchmarks.
  • Ensures smooth transition and introduction of new services and emerging technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinate managers and professional staff. Is responsible for the strategic guidance, development and evaluation of employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Santander’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements:

  • Education –
    • Bachelor’s Degree: in Finance, Business, Information Management/Information Technology,
      Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent field.
    • or equivalent work experience
    • Master’s Degree: in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Experience –
    • 9-12 years Successful experience in building and managing Technology Infrastructure and Operational environments.
    • Experience managing vendors, installation teams, removal teams, and property requirements.
  • Skills & Abilities –
    • Technical expertise in multiple infrastructure platforms
    • Demonstrated project management experience
    • Ability to build and maintain high performance teams
    • Demonstrated ability to lead in an open team-based environment
    • IT budgeting and financial management
    • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and recommendations on complex issues and present to senior management
    • Understands global network and related technologies and execute improvements, technology refresh programs, consolidations and optimizations relative to the shift of network data from internal data centers to cloud services.
    • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and prioritization skills balancing multiple demands in a dynamic environment
    • Excellent attention to detail, quality, and follow-through; commitment to continuous improvement and the elimination of performance variability
    • Demonstrated ability to think analytically and independently, providing the thought leadership necessary to introduce incremental and evolutionary change
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing requirements with a flexible and creative approach to brainstorming, troubleshooting, and problem solving
    • Advanced knowledge and skills across networks, servers, databases, cloud services, security, and other related disciplines
    • Advanced knowledge of systems architectures and information security practices
    • Demonstrated ability to work under high pressure situations calmly
    • Strong and efficient problem-solving and analytical skills

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently: Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, climb ladders.
